Our History

Steeped in legend and history

The Sheriff of Nottingham, entwined with the legend of Robin Hood has captured the imagination of the world since Anglo-Saxon times.

Among the many to have held this title over the past millennium was Mr. Cornelius Lander, who served as Sheriff of Nottingham more than 350 years ago. In the heart of the city, he commissioned a grand and elegant residence, known as ‘Sheriff House’.

Completed in 1775, Sheriff House became the Lander family home for over 50 years. Over the centuries, this beautiful building has evolved. From a private residence to bustling offices, and now, a vibrant space where people come together to work, collaborate, and connect.

Today, we are proud stewards of Sheriff House, honouring its rich legacy while writing the next chapter in its story.
